Niall Flynn Keeps his Job

The Club has concluded the internal disciplinary investigation into incidents involving player Niall Flynn using paintball guns in public areas.

Following the conclusion of this investigation he has received the maximum fine possible permitted by the Football League and a formal written warning.

He will also be required to undertake 60 hours of community service for the City of Sunderland Council.

Niall said “I would like to sincerely apologise for my actions. I realise what I did was wrong and I have learnt some valuable lessons.

“My behaviour was immature and I am extremely embarrassed by my actions. I now recognise the seriousness of what I did and I would like to stress that at no time was my intention to cause anyone any harm.
