Out-of-favour midfielder moves to Leeds

Out-of-favour midfielder John Oster looks set to seal a loan move to Elland Road.

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is hoping to get Oster in on a one-month deal, in time for his side's trip to Deepdale this weekend.

Welsh international Oster has become the subject of regular howls of derision from Sunderland supporters, and has struggled to hold down a place in either the senior or reserve teams so far this season.

Rumours of interest from West Ham haven't materialised into a firm offer, leaving the Welshman marginalised.

Leeds, meanwhile, find themselves perilously close to the relegation zone after an embarrassing defeat to Burnley midweek.
