Warnock slates Rush over Collins move

Sheffield United gaffer Neil Warnock has hit out at his Chester City counterpart Ian Rush over the transfer of Chester defender Danny Collins to Sunderland yesterday.

Collins has signed a four-year contract with us, but it seems that the Blades were out-done in the bidding.

Warnock told the Blades' official website, "He was one that we had an eye on - but we didn't go too strong on him.

"We couldn't agree terms and I'm not happy with how Chester have dealt with it - particularly Ian Rush announcing that we'd made a bid when they played against Sheffield Wednesday the other week.

"Chester have come out of it on top and got more money out of the deal - but I was a bit disappointed with how they acted.

"Sunderland have paid £140,000 and best of luck to them - he is up and coming and still a bit raw...he's a centre-forward turned into a centre-half and he still has a lot to learn."
