SAFC to trial new ticket scheme
Sunderland AFC is to trial an innovative voucher redemption scheme for season ticket holders.
The scheme, which will commence in January 2005, will give the Club's season ticket holders the opportunity to redeem up to two unused vouchers from any home fixtures from January 3rd onwards that are subject to change for live television, cup commitments or adverse weather conditions.
Should season ticket holders be unable to attend the new date of any rearranged post-xmas home fixture, they will be given the opportunity to exchange their unused season ticket voucher from that game for an additional complimentary ticket for one of two alternative games - SAFC v Plymouth, 15th March 2005 or SAFC v Reading, 9th April 2005.
As an example, the date of SAFC's forthcoming game against Rotherham was recently changed at short notice for live TV transmission. Had this been a home fixture taking place during the scheme's trial period and fans were unable to attend the rearranged date, they would be able to claim an additional complimentary ticket to one of the nominated fixtures by simply exchanging their unused voucher.
SAFC is aware from discussions with supporters groups that fixture changes are a major contributory factor in choosing to attend games on a match-by-match basis, rather than purchasing a season ticket. The Club is responding to these concerns and in trialling this initiative it is hoped that season ticket holders will find the scheme a benefit.
SAFC Marketing and Communications Director, Lesley Callaghan said: "We are aware that fixture changes can impact on season ticket holders and by trialling this redemption scheme we are giving those season ticket holders the opportunity to bring along another family member or friend free of charge to an alternative game."

Unused vouchers can be exchanged at the Stadium of Light ticket office in person, or by post however no redemptions will be accepted on the day of the home match.
Redemption will be limited to one ticket per season ticket voucher redeemed and unused season ticket vouchers can only be exchanged for an additional ticket to the specified exchange games.
