Reading FC apologise to Sunderland travelling supporters

Reading FC have apologised to travelling Sunderland supporters who were kept waiting well after kickoff at the turnstiles during Tuesday's game at the Madejski Stadium.

A spokesman at the Madejski said today, "The number of supporters who arrived without tickets was far greater than we had anticipated, creating queues outside the ticket office windows.

"This was greatly exacerbated when we suffered a serious system error which slowed down the printing of tickets, meaning the process took far longer than usual.

"The delays were unacceptable and we are investigating the reasons for the system error in an attempt to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

"Again, we would like to apologise to all supporters who were affected, and hope your next visit to Madejski Stadium is more enjoyable."
