SAFC players called up for international action

Mart Poom has been selected to play for Estonia in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Poom and his countrymen are due to face Liechtenstein in a group 3 game in Vaduz on Wednesday 18 August.

The game will see him awarded his 99th cap.

Meanwhile, Jeff Whitley and George McCartney have been selected for Northern Ireland's squad to face Switzerland in Zurich on the same day.

And Neil Teggart has been selected for Northern Ireland's U21 squad to face Switzerland in Belfast that day.

The matches take place only four days after Sunderland face Championship new-boys QPR at the Stadium of Light.
