Referee for Cov, Crewe matches announced

The referee for our first match of the season, against Coventry, has been announced - Richard Beeby of Northamptonshire. Mr Beeby's stats for last season are as follows:

Total Games: 35
..........Championship - 11
..........League 1 - 8
..........League 2 - 10
..........FA Cup - 4
..........LDV Van Trophy - 1
..........League Cup -1

Total Yellow cards: 100 (highest: 7, Sheffield W v Oldham and SAFC v W/Ham)
Total Red cards: 2 (highest: 2, Sheffield W v Oldham and Millwall v Walsall)

Mr Beeby reffed our league match at home against West Ham in March which we won 2-0 - booking only Whitley for us, but SIX Hammers. He was also in charge during the away leg of the play-off semi finals against Crystal Palace, which we lost 3-2. On that occasion he showed the yellow card to Breen, Kyle, McAteer and Oster.

Assistant referees for the Chester match are Dave Birkett (Lincolnshire) and Nigel Murphy (Nottinghamshire).


For the home game against Crewe Alex, the man in the middle will be Eddie Evans of Greater Manchester and his stats for last season are as follows:

Total Yellow cards: 104 (highest: 7, Boston v L/Orient and Bristol R v Torquay)

Mr Evans didn't officiate in any of our matches last season.

Assistant referees for the Crewe match are Richard Hewitt (North Yorks) and Chris Reeves (East Yorks)
