Referee for Wimbledon vs SAFC

The referee for Tuesday evening’s match against Wimbledon will be Scott Mathieson of Cheshire. The Assistant Refs are Mark Hutchinson of Nottinghamshire and Graham Horwood of Bedfordshire.

Mr Mathieson has reffed 27 matches so far this season (6 Div 1, 8 Div 2, 10 Div 3, 1 LC, 1 FAC, 1 LDV); he has already handed out a huge 81 yellow cards and 5 red cards. The most yellow cards he's given out in one match this season so far was five – which he’s done five times this season (but never in a division 1 match).

Mr Mathieson was the man in black at our home 3-2 defeat of Ipswich Town back in September when he booked Jeff Whitley, Darren Williams and Kevin Kyle. A Gary Breen own goal gave the Tractor Boys the lead in the 36th minute, then he made amends shortly before half time by scoring an equaliser. John Oster netted only four minutes into the second half, with Ipswich’s Naylor gaining an equaliser only two minutes later – but Kevin Kyle secured the points for Sunderland, scoring the winner five minutes from full time.
