Walsall match delayed 24 hrs

Walsall FC has confirmed that this evening's fixture against Sunderland
AFC has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

A pitch inspection took place between 11:30am and 12 noon at the Bescot
Stadium and the pitch was declared unplayable.

Manager Mick McCarthy was also present at the inspection and was in full
agreement that the pitch was dangerous and the match should be postponed
on the grounds of player safety.

The Football League has approved the movement of the fixture to tomorrow
and both Clubs have consented to this.

Walsall have consulted with the Met Office and weather conditions are
expected to improve tomorrow as temperatures are predicted to be higher
(up to a maximum of 10 degrees). As a result Walsall have advised the
Football League that they are confident that the game will go ahead

Any supporter who has purchased a ticket but is unable to make the
re-arranged fixture will be entitled to a full refund.

Kick off for tomorrow is scheduled for 7:45pm.
