SAFC want cup for Stokoe tribute

Sunderland AFC have made a request to the Football Association asking that the Cup itself can be at the Stadium of Light for our 5th round tie against Birmingham - as a tribute to the late Bob Stokoe.

Stokoe, who died yesterday, was best remembered for taking Sunderland to FA Cup glory on 5th May 1973, as underdogs against the highly-fancied Leeds United.

The FA have told Sunderland that the request will be considered, and a decision given later this week.
