Teggart loan move on hold

Striker Neil Teggart's expected loan move to in-crisis Darlington has been put on hold after the youngster was injured in training.

The Northern Echo says that the young Northern Irishman was on the verge of joining David Hodgson's team on a month's loan, but the deal is on hold while Teggart recovers from a hamstring injury.

Quakers' boss Hodgson, himself a former Sunderland player, said "It's a shame because we've heard a lot of good things about Neil. We're still confident of bringing the lad to the club but it might not be for another week.

"I spoke to Mick McCarthy this morning and he's very highly thought of at Sunderland."

Teggart was top scorer for SAFC U19's last season.

Darlington went into administration shortly after Christmas and Chairman George Reynolds stepped down from his post earlier this week - Teggart's loan move to the club is only possible because a local businessman has offered to pay his wages.
