The Irish are coming!

Mick McCarthy has cleared the way for Irish Gaelic football side Westmeath to train at the Academy of Light later this month.

Westmeath gaffer Paidi O Se is friends with McCarthy, and it's been agreed that the GAA team will be able to use the Academy facilities at a weekend training camp in advance of February's National Football League campaign back in Ireland.

The Westmeath players also hope to take in a Nationwide league match during their stay in the north-east.
