Sunderland’s FA Cup-winning heroes will be back together again ahead of our game against Leicester City for a special talk-in at the Stadium of Light.
Jimmy Montgomery will be joined by former team-mates including Bobby Kerr, Dick Malone, Ron Guthrie, Ritchie Pitt, Vic Halom and Mickey Horswill, the night before the visit of the current Premier League Champions. In a special event to raise funds for the Sunderland Former Players Association, the heroes will share stories and memories from what is one of the most iconic periods in Sunderland’s history, in the relaxed environment of Quinn’s Sport Bar.
There will also be a special 1973 quiz and an auction with a shirt signed by the legends and a host of other prizes up for grabs.
Speaking about the evening, Jimmy Montgomery said: “It is fantastic to be able to get the lads back together again. The 1973 cup run was such a wonderful part of our lives and the club’s history and is something we never tire of talking about.”
Kevin Ball will host the event, which takes place on Friday 02 December, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at just £5, which includes pie and peas and drinks promotions. All proceeds from the ticket sales and auction will go to the Sunderland Former Players Association.
